Peer Review
CMCCR evaluates submissions through editorial screening and independent peer review. The active review model (for example double-anonymous or single-anonymous) is configured by the journal and communicated to authors at the appropriate stage.
What reviewers assess
- Clinical accuracy and completeness of the case presentation
- Originality and relevance to the journal scope
- Quality of discussion and learning points
- Ethics, consent and privacy compliance
- Appropriate referencing and avoidance of plagiarism
- Quality and integrity of figures and data
Typical workflow

Revision requests
Authors may receive minor or major revision requests with a defined deadline. Responses should address each reviewer comment point-by-point. Additional files or tracked changes may be uploaded through the author portal. Failure to respond within the deadline may result in withdrawal from active review.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts under review are confidential. Authors should not post submitted versions on preprint servers or social media if journal policy restricts it, unless open preprint deposition is explicitly permitted in journal settings.
