Publication Ethics
Chronicles of Medical and Clinical Case Reports follows responsible publishing practices aligned with international standards for medical journals. Authors, reviewers and editors share responsibility for maintaining trust in the published record.
Research integrity
Report cases honestly. Do not fabricate, falsify or selectively omit clinically relevant information. Retraction policies apply to confirmed misconduct.
Authorship
All listed authors must meet authorship criteria, approve the final manuscript and accept accountability. Gift or ghost authorship is not permitted.
Plagiarism & overlap
Manuscripts must be original. Duplicate publication of the same case without cross-reference is not allowed. Proper citation of prior reports of the same patient is required.
Conflicts of interest
Disclose financial, personal or institutional relationships that could influence the work. Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial pressure.
Human ethics
When research ethics approval applies, provide committee name and approval number. Case reports may still require ethics review depending on jurisdiction and institution.
Image integrity
Do not manipulate images in ways that misrepresent findings. Adjustments for clarity must be disclosed when material.
Corrections & retractions
Published errors are corrected through errata or corrigenda. Serious issues may lead to retraction following COPE-aligned procedures.
Appeals
Authors may appeal editorial decisions with a reasoned response. Appeals are reviewed by a senior editor not involved in the original decision where possible.
